Katherine is a leader in the field of naturopathy and is passionate about empowering her patients to take back their own health.
Katherine discovered natural medicine when she was jus 17 years old and has a unique story that has helped to shape who she is today. Katherine grew up in a home wiht domestic violence, and at the age of 15 was living on the streets of Melbourne, homeless and addicted to heroin.
She was very fortunate to be able to move to the Daintree rain forest in far north Queensland with a friend which helped to get her out of the dark situations she was in. It was here that Katherine met a woman called Jenny, who became like a second mother to her.
Jenny was sick however, having an autoimmune disease called Systemic Lupus. Over the months and years, Katherine observed Jenny get sicker and sicker, while her medication cabinet grew and grew. This really ignited something in Katherine who knew that there must be a better way, and it was from here that she came across herbal medicine and decided to become a naturopath.
Katherine is no stranger to the healing journey and is forever a student of the lessons of life that can be gained from the act of self-healing. She has overcome anxiety and depression, acne and migraine headaches as a part of her healing journey.
While Katherine was in university Jenny passed away at the age of 46, and it really strengthened her resolve to help to change how healthcare worked in the west.
“I could have written an essay on how wonderful you are. To this day, Andy and I always comment on how much you helped us”
